When you need help focusing your novel’s opening, aiming for the right audience, targeting your story’s true meanings, and launching a story arc that hits its mark, I offer a developmental edit of your novel’s opening pages.
Novel genre preferences: I typically read & critique mainstream/upmarket fiction, literary mainstream, historical fiction, women’s fiction, fantasy, speculative (dystopian, cli-fi, magical realism, science fiction), YA and MG.
FOCUS FIRST: PARTIAL NOVEL MANUSCRIPT REVIEW
A comprehensive critique of your first twenty-five or fifty pages, with developmental inline edits, and a five-page letter assessing what’s working, what to improve going forward, and how to improve it.
You’ll send pages for a review in advance of our Zoom meeting, plus fill out and return a Focus First Assessment form via email consultation, clarifying your vision for your novel. We’ll discuss your responses, and your pages, in a sixty-minute phone or Zoom session.
I’ll zero in on manuscript strengths and offer creative solutions to opening problems. You’ll take away a compact resource packet tailored to your needs, with tips, techniques and resources that point you in the right direction for revision.
First 25 pages for $395; First 50 pages for $625.
